Solar Lens

Solar Lenses are used by the Luminoth to focus light for various purposes in certain structural systems.
Though the construction of the frame varies, the lens itself is usually red. The lenses can be aligned to intensify sunlight to provide power or for other reasons.

Mining Plaza[edit | edit source]
The three solar lenses in the Mining Plaza are linked to a Luminoth Sonic Security System. Each lens is controlled by one control emitter, and will move into a new position if the emitter is disabled. When the three lenses are aligned, the way to an Energy Tank will be opened.
Portal Terminal[edit | edit source]
The three solar lenses in the Portal Terminal are part of a Portal Generation System. Each lens realigns after the Conveyor System is utilized by the Morph Ball to reach blocks of Talloric Alloy, which hold the frame in place, and Samus destroys them. When the lenses are aligned, sunlight is refracted into the Portal Dynamo, powering the system and opening the way to Dark Aether.
