Preeds are poison filled cybernetic organisms used for Space Pirate patrols. Their bodies are armored, but if the armor is breached the Preeds will explode killing most nearby creatures. Samus encounters Preeds only in Torvus Bog.[1] Preeds are based on the extremely similar Metroid Prime Puffers.
