Wave Troopers are Space Pirates featured in Metroid Prime. Unlike standard Pirates, Wave Troopers are equipped with a weaker variant version of the Wave Beam that was reverse engineered to use against Samus along with the Power Beam, Ice Beam, and Plasma Beam.[1] A design flaw renders Wave Troopers vulnerable to the Wave Beam.[2] Wave Troopers are found only in the Phazon Mines, mostly on patrols. They are among the Pirates that the Omega Pirate summons for reinforcements.

Trivia

  • In the NTSC versions of Metroid Prime, Samus can only damage Wave Troopers with the Wave Beam and the Wavebuster. In other versions, Samus can kill them instantly with Power Bombs.
