The Hive Tunnel is a room in the Temple Grounds. The room connects the Hive Chamber A to the Command Chamber. The room is home to 5 Federation Marine corpses, one of which is tied up in Luminoth Webbing, while the rest are dangling from the ceiling. There are also thirteen total Worker Splinters found across the tunnel that, despite apparently having collected and fed on the nearby corpses, are non-hostile and leave Samus untouched as she walks through. After breaking the Luminoth Webbing by hitting the green bulb in the center, Samus can walk through the door to the Command Chamber.

Scans[edit | edit source]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Dead Marine)
Located in: Temple Grounds - Hive Tunnel

Codex genome match: Standard Human
Scans indicate this trooper died of cardiac arrest. Chemical levels in body suggest a state of extreme fear at time of death.[1]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Dead Marine)

Codex genome match: Standard Human
Source of fatal wounds: Galactic Federation assault weapon. Trooper was, in all likelihood, killed by friendly fire. Whether it was an accident or not remains to be seen.[2]

Located in: Temple Grounds - Hive Tunnel

Codex genome match: Standard Human
Cause of death: excessive blunt trauma to numerous critical points. Bioscan results indicate that there were at least thirty individual attackers involved in this trooper's demise.[4]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Dead Marine)
Located in: Temple Grounds - Hive Tunnel

Codex genome match: Standard Human
Scans detect extremely high levels of an unknown toxin in target's body. Numerous micropunctures in armor and body: trace elements of toxin around these areas.[5]

Located in: Temple Grounds - Hive Tunnel

Object contains large quantity of acidic fluid. Fluids may be used by indigenous bioforms for digestive purposes. Shell is vulnerable to weapon fire.[6]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Door)
Located in: Temple Grounds - Hive Tunnel

This is a powered door system. Low-level energy shield on door to prevent activation by local creatures. Weapon fire of any type will disrupt the shield and open the door.[7]
