Temple Grounds Main Theme

The Communication Area is a room in the Temple Grounds. It connects the Dynamo Chamber, Storage Cavern A, and the Trooper Security Station.

Appearance and Navigation[edit | edit source]

The rocky terrain acts as a sort of maze that branches to different areas. One path leads through the ground level of the room, starting at the Dynamo Chamber and eventually leading to a clearing with the door to the Trooper Security Station. Two Splinters will attack Samus as she passes through this route, and three Dark Troopers will attack in the clearing. These enemies will appear only on the first visit.

A Scan Terminal along the path can be scanned to activate the Galactic Federation Communication Array,[1] but its signal is scrambled due to atmospheric interference.[2] Just next to this is the corpse of Private First Class L. Brouda.

The upper portion of the room, and by extension the door to Storage Cavern A, can only be accessed using the Space Jump Boots. A middle ledge has a small blast shield on the ground. It can be destroyed with a Morph Ball Bomb to reveal a Missile Expansion underneath. On later visits, a number of Splinter Cocoons and War Wasp Hives throughout the room will spawn a number of Splinters and War Wasps.

Upgrades[edit | edit source]

Missile Expansion[edit | edit source]

Requires: Space Jump Boots and Morph Ball Bombs

  • On the higher platforms on the southern part of the room, which can be reached as soon as Samus has recovered the Space Jump Boots, there is a Blast Shield on the ground that can be destroyed via a Morph Ball Bomb. Underneath this is the expansion.
