The Undertemple Shaft is a room in Dark Torvus Bog from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
The Shaft is a tall metal section underneath the Torvus Temple. It is not underwater like its Aetherian counterpart. It contains two Dark Preed and two Hunter Ing that respawn each time Samus visits.
A dead Luminoth corpse lies in a metal cage in this chamber. It was laying there for 1.86 decacycles before Samus's arrival and died due to exposure to Nohadin Gas.[1] The metal cage can be rotated by use of a Bomb Slot to access the Crypt Tunnel or Sacrificial Chamber Tunnel. However, once the Grapple Beam is acquired, the Tunnels can be reached without having to rotate the cage.
