The Mining Station A is a room in the Agon Wastes. The room connects the Mining Station Access, the Portal Access A, the Central Station Access, the Sand Cache, and the Temple Access

Appearance and Navigation

The room consists of a lower area along with a higher walkway around the room. The lower area is covered with sand. The door to the Mining Station Access is located in the west section of this area. The south end of the area has a number of platforms in an alcove of the wall. One of these platforms has the door to the Portal Access. Near these platforms, there is a section of wall made of Denzium that can be opened with a Power Bomb. This reveals a Kinetic Orb Cannon that will launch Samus to an extremely high Spider Ball Track. By following this track, Samus can obtain a Missile Expansion.

From the side platforms, Samus can jump onto a series of platforms supported by pillars in the center of the room. These lead up to the upper walkway. The upper walkway makes a U shape, covering the north, east, and south parts of the room. If Samus has the Space Jump Boots, she can also use a few platforms on the west side to cross. The south part of the walkway has a gate that can only be lowered with the amber upgrade to the Translator Module. The door to the Sand Cache is behind this gate. The east part of the walkway has a small flow of sand. This flow has a large statue of D-Chr in the center of it. The door to the Central Station Access is behind the statue, but is blocked by falling sand and a Sandgate.

In order to lower the gate, Samus must use the Space Jump Boots to jump onto the statue, then into a side hallway. This hallway leads up to a high metal walkway that has an entry of Luminoth Lore along with a Scan Terminal that can only be scanned from the walkway. This will part the sand and open the Sandgate. The north section of the walkway has the door to the Temple Access, blocked by a Red Blast Shield. The north part can be accessed by knocking down a pillar with a Missile to form a bridge.

When Samus first enters the room, a cut scene will show three Pirate Troopers detecting Samus. They will then transport down to the lower level. Lumites will appear on later visits in the area, which are later replaced by two Pirate Aerotroopers on much later visits. Three Brizgees appear throughout the room on all visits.

Upgrades

Missile Expansion

Requires: Power Bombs and Spider Ball

  • After blowing up a Denzium wall on the lower level, Samus can use a Kinetic Orb Cannon to be shot up to a Spider Ball Track high above the ground. Through navigating this, Samus can find another expansion for her Missiles.
