Trivia
*The Logbook suggests to use concussive weapons against Plated Puffers ("concussive weapons" usually refers to Morph Ball Bombs), however it is impractical to use Morph Ball Bombs against Plated Puffers as they can only harm Samus at close proximities. Missiles, however, are very effective against these creatures.

Mutated Puffer with reinforced epidermis. Phazon exposure has created a mutant strain of Puffers on Tallon IV. They have developed plated skin, making them harder to burst. Concussive weapons can still do the job, however. The gas within the Plated Puffer is just as deadly as that within their 'cousins'.[1]
